"Medialab" is a media-laboratory founded by Marianna Grigoryan and Vahe Nersesyan through the "Umbrella International Journalists Network" NGO. We believe in the power of high-quality journalism and the possibility of turning that power into an engine of progress.
Since 2009, we have strived to create and distribute quality content through news, analysis, investigative articles, interviews, columns, reviews, cartoons and photo stories.

Umbrella Journalists' Network Launches Satire against Corruption" project

As a part of the "Satire against Corruption" project, MediaLab has produced a series of 8 short animated cartoons and a comic book titled "8 Illustrated Stories about Corruption." These creative endeavors not only humorously portray instances of corruption but also play a crucial role in educating the public in distinctive and impactful ways. By offering an alternative approach, these works contribute to raising awareness and addressing the different dimensions of corruption.

“Media Excellence” Award

MediaLab.am was the first project after founding Umbrella Journalists’ International Network NGO in late 2009. The unique media platform bringing together good journalism and art, pioneer of powerful political/editorial cartoon project in Armenia. MediaLab.am's main aim was to provide balanced news source in the polarized local media in Armenia. During almost 15 years of history MediaLab got more than 30 international and local prestigious awards in Journalism including the “Media Excellence” Award in 2017 from the International Community.
Street Art

Over several years, we've endeavored to harness the power of art and journalism to convey impactful messages through street art. Our courageous street artists have tackled diverse and pressing topics, ranging from selective abortions and domestic violence to environmental concerns and political activism. Through this dynamic fusion of artistic expression and journalism, we aim to engage the public, spark conversations, and bring attention to critical issues that warrant thoughtful consideration and action.
